At the event, Moses Kwesi Baiden, CEO of Margins ID Group, delivered the keynote speech on the profound impact of digital identity on the unity and progress of the African continent. In his speech, he highlighted the pivotal role an effective National Identity System plays in the development and governance of nations.
Mr Baiden explained, ‘A country that does not have an effective National Identity System cannot make complex decisions that affect citizens - education, roads, housing, and response to crises.” He discussed how digital identity solutions have the potential to transform Africa by enhancing governmental decision-making processes and facilitating better service delivery to citizens.
Mr. Baiden also addressed the critical topic of "Securing your Digital Identity in the New World; The Ghana Card." He elucidated the possibilities of achieving a unified continent through the implementation of robust digital identity systems, such as the Ghana Card. By highlighting the advantages of secure digital identity, he underlined its potential to drive economic growth, diversity, and inclusiveness across the African continent.
Mobex Africa Tech Expo is festival of technology innovations and creativity which gathers innovators, policymakers, technologists, investors, and businesses alike. The 2022 edition of the festival focused on the theme, “Digital Innovations: Launchpad for Integrating and Transforming African Economies for Growth, Diversity and Inclusiveness”.
