May 22, 2019The Chief Executive Officer of Margins Group has said the issuance of digital National Identification cards to 16.2 million Ghanaians will make their citizenship more worthwhile.
According to Mr. Moses K. Baiden Jr., Ghana’s smart identity cards, Ghana Card, will open a “whole new beginning” for the country’s citizens. This, to him, is because bureaucratic and corrupt systems in the country can be remedied as a result of the rolling out of the Ghana Card.
“This will change with a digital platform, where people can use their new digital identity to integrate to e-government services, and get seamless payments online, making citizenship much more beneficial,” he said.
Mr. Baiden made this known in an interview with European CEO on the 15th of November, 2018. This was after he was recognized by the European CEOs Awards as having one of the most distinguishing business portfolios in Ghana. Margins Group is made up of five subsidiaries.
He added that, the Ghana Card will aid Ghanaians to access digitised ecommerce platforms “seamlessly.” This, according to him, will “create” a private sector in Ghana which is more efficient and deliver “great value for money” while increasing “the velocity of commerce and economic expansion.”
In addition, the CEO of Margins Group indicated that, he thinks “the increase in the digitization index will cause an astronomical increase in political, economic, and social dividends that will benefit the people of Ghana.”
In collaboration with the National Identification Authority, Margins Group has ensured that close to 20 million Ghanaians receive a digital identity card.
